This update is all about Medeli AKX — the AKX10 and its variants such as Dante Zen, Titan and the other models built on the same platform — and about the brand-new Style Converter. Here is everything that is new.
1. Sample & Drum Kit Editor for your AKX expansions
You can now edit the samplers and drum kits of your AKX expansions directly in PA SET Explorer — no other tool needed.
• Open any sampler or drum kit of an expansion and change its parameters
• Edit the layers one by one
• Adjust the effects in real time
• Listen to every change instantly with the built-in preview
2. A Style Player for Medeli AKX styles
The new Style Player plays the styles of your AKX SET — and lets you shape them while you listen.
• Change the sampler or drum kit assigned to each track, in every element of the style
• Edit the chord rules of each track
• Edit the Quick Settings (QS)
3. Import any style into your AKX SET
Right-click a style package of a Medeli AKX SET and choose Import Style. Pick a style in any of these formats and it is converted to a Medeli style automatically:
• KORG PA300–PA4X style (.STY)
• KORG PA5X style (.stg)
• Yamaha style (.STY)
• Medeli AKX style (.STY)
• Ketron style (.KST)
• MIDI song (.mid)
4. Combine two Medeli AKX SETs
Load one Medeli AKX SET as SET A and another one as SET B. Then simply drag samplers, drum kits or styles from SET B to SET A to make your main SET even better.
5. Resources — your SETs always at hand
Every KORG or Medeli SET you load is now saved in Resources, so the next time you want to open it, it is just one click away. You can also mark your favourites.
6. The new Converter
A new Converter section has arrived in the sidebar with two tools:
• Style Converter — load a style in any format and convert it to a completely different one.
• Preview the different style elements: verify the conversion fidelity, and modify the conversion parameters.
• Sampler Converter — coming soon. It is switched off for now while we finish it.
7. Other improvements
PA5X styles into your older KORG SET
Load a KORG PA300–PA4X SET as SET A and a PA5X KST as SET B. Drag a style from the KST onto an empty slot of SET A and it is converted automatically to the PA300–PA4X .STY format.
The new "Convert" button in SetManager
Load any SET from PA300 to PA5X as SET A, press Convert and choose the target:
• Medeli AKX10 — styles, samples and drum kits are converted
• Ketron Event — styles are converted and .sf2 samples and drumkit format
• Yamaha — styles are converted and .sf2 samples and drumkit format
• KORG — a PA300–PA4X SET can convert all of its styles to the PA5X .stg format; a PA5X KST can be converted for PA300 / PA600 / PA900 / PA3X or for PA700 / PA1000 / PA4X (styles only — samples and drum kits are still in the works)
A small Event Editor for Medeli AKX styles
