Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the PA SET Explorer software application (the "Software"), the website at pasetexplorer.com (the "Website") and all related services (together, the "Service"), operated by the developer of PA SET Explorer (the "Developer", "we", "us"). By creating an account, downloading, installing, activating, purchasing, or otherwise using the Service, you ("you", the "User") acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a license. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your account credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share, sell or transfer your account or license key to any third party.

3. Free Trial — Try Before You Buy

Free evaluation

PA SET Explorer can be tried completely free. Any registered user may activate a Trial, which grants a fully-featured Premium license for 3 (three) days at no cost — no payment and no credit card are required. The Trial unlocks every feature of the Software so that you can fully evaluate it before deciding whether to buy.

The Trial is limited to one per user account and one per user, starts when the license is first activated in the Software, and automatically expires after the trial period, after which the Software will ask you to purchase a plan to continue using its paid features.

4. Licenses, Editions & Pricing

After (or instead of) the Trial, you may purchase a lifetime license in one of the following editions:

Prices are shown on the Website and may change at any time; the price displayed at the moment of purchase applies to that purchase. Each paid license is a one-time payment that grants a lifetime license for the purchased edition, including future updates to that edition, and does not renew or recur. A Basic license may be upgraded to Premium by paying the applicable price difference. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your full card details.

5. No Refunds Policy

Important — please read

Because a full, free Trial is available to every user before any payment, all sales are final and non-refundable. The Trial (Section 3) gives you the opportunity to evaluate every feature of the Software at no cost and with no obligation.

By completing a purchase, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to try the Software via the free Trial and that you are satisfied with it and wish to buy it. Accordingly, we do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges on any license purchase or upgrade, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. If you have not yet tried the Software, we strongly encourage you to use the free Trial before purchasing.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited under the law applicable to you.

6. License Key & Activation

Your license key is personal and confidential. Upon activation, a license is bound to the computer on which it is activated, and the Software verifies the license status online. You agree not to publish, share, distribute or resell your license key. We reserve the right to limit, reset or suspend a license that shows signs of sharing, fraudulent use, chargebacks, or use across multiple machines beyond what is permitted.

7. Permitted Use & Restrictions

The Software is a tool intended to help you explore, organize, edit and convert data used by certain electronic musical instruments across different formats and platforms. Subject to these Terms, you may install and use it on your own computer for your own lawful purposes. You must not:

8. Your Content & Copyright Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the files, sounds, samples and styles that you open, convert, export or share using the Service, and you represent that you have the necessary rights to do so. The Software is intended for use with content you legitimately own or are authorized to use. You must not use the Service to infringe any copyright or other rights, and you agree to indemnify and hold the Developer harmless from any claim arising out of your content or your misuse of the Service.

9. Interoperability & Conversion Results

Different instruments and platforms use different internal architectures. While the Software aims to provide a reasonable functional equivalence when converting between formats (for example between KORG, Yamaha, Ketron and Medeli), we do not guarantee that any conversion will produce an identical result in every respect, nor that every generated file will be fully compatible with every device. Results may vary depending on the source material and the target platform.

10. Software Provided "As Is" — Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software and Service are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted, that all features will be compatible with all systems, that conversions will always be accurate, or that generated files will work on all devices.

11. Backups & Data Loss

Before making any changes to your instrument, SETs or files with the Software, we strongly recommend that you keep backup copies of your original data. The Developer is not responsible for any loss of or damage to data, files or instruments arising from the use of the Software.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, the Developer's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for the license giving rise to the claim.

13. Updates & Availability

We may release updates, improvements and fixes for the Software from time to time; where provided, updates are included with your license edition. We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service (including the Website, online verification, or optional online features) at any time. Online license verification requires an internet connection.

14. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate your access, account or license if you breach these Terms, engage in fraud or license sharing, or issue a chargeback. Upon termination for breach, your right to use the Software ends and you must stop using it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and the no-refund policy) will survive.

15. Third-Party Services

Payments are handled by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. The Website may link to third-party sites or services that are not controlled by us and for which we are not responsible.

16. Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Contact

For any questions about these Terms, please contact us through the support channels provided on the Website. We are happy to help.
